“When I think of The Bridge Shul, it evokes in me
the way this community bridges divides or differences.
Old and young. Single and married. Gay and straight.
Observant and non-observant. Traditional and progressive.
People with disabilities and those without disabilities.
Affluent and those not so affluent. And on and on.”

Who We Are

Bridge Shul friends connecting in Jerusalem

“What is remarkable about our synagogue is that it is genuinely a community - a group of people with different levels of religious education and observance, from very different backgrounds, who are drawn together by the promise of a meaningful, intentional, engaging and completely egalitarian experience of spirituality together.” —Rachel L.

“Rabbi Jan Uhrbach’s unique combination of intelligence, spirituality, and compassion, coupled with an incredible gift of communication, enables her to teach us how to better bridge the innumerable chasms that we all face. Nobody does it better!”   — Harvey and Lesley W.

“Rabbi Uhrbach provides deep spiritual wisdom with psychological insight that adds dimension to my life." —Carol S.

“Rabbi Michael Boino has a deep rich voice.  Makes me think I am with the sages.  Everything he chants or sings is powerful and evocative of the history of the Jewish people.” —Toni S.

What We Believe

“We believe that everyone is imbued with an inherent human dignity, entitled to kindness and respect, and endowed with gifts that are needed by the larger whole. We strive to embody that belief by…”

What we do

Our focus is on joyful gatherings that connect us to the sacred, to ourselves and to each other, and to the broader community of which we are a part. Because we’re not tied to maintaining a physical building, we’re free to invest our resources in people.

Where we do it

Most often, we meet at the “Shul House” in Bridgehampton, NY. When we need a larger space for special occasions, we partner with local churches and community organizations.

And we’re committed to full accessibility, so we’re always available remotely, both on Zoom and Livestream.
