“What Do We Learn as We Age? A Poet’s Journey.” Begin your preparation for the High Holy Days with an intimate poetry reading and discussion by poet and spiritual guide Merle Feld, featuring poems from her newest book, Longing: Poems of a Life. The reading and discussion will take place at Shabbat dinner following Friday night services.

What role can/should religion and religious leaders play in the public square? Dr. Julian Zelizer, Princeton historian, CNN politic analyst and best-selling author of Abraham Joshua Heschel: A Life of Radical Amazement, joins us for a post-services discussion.

Tisha B’Av commemorates the destruction of both Temples, and other times of exile and destruction throughout Jewish history. Gesher | The Bridge Shul and our friends from Temple Adas Israel have traditionally observed this day together, to model the way in which focusing on what we share, rather than on our differences, is an essential part of rebuilding when things fall apart.
