“I’m excited every Friday morning knowing that I will soon be enjoying Shabbat while learning and praying with my rabbi and my extended family at The Bridge Shul.”

About Our Services

Co-led by Rabbis Jan Uhrbach and Michael Boino, Shabbat services at The Bridge Shul are joyful, uplifting, accessible, and genuinely prayerful. The traditional liturgy comes alive in a combination of communal singing, meditative chanting, and quiet private contemplation, complemented by contemporary poetry and kavannot (brief explanations or readings to deepen focus and meaning). Dress is informal; wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, at-home, and in the spirit of Shabbat.

Rabbi Boino brings his resonant baritone voice, keyboard talents and expansive knowledge of Jewish music to create a unique musical journey that opens the heart. An award-winning composer, many of our most beloved melodies are they.

Rabbi Uhrbach teaches both Friday evening and Shabbat morning. Teaching on Friday nights is usually an inspirational introduction to a theme or question within the weekly Torah reading. On Shabbat morning she offers a fuller exploration of the way the Torah’s wisdom speaks to the most essential questions and challenges we all face.

Praying together is wonderful. I really like the whole service; it is spiritual and grounding for me. The contemporary relevance which is part of the discussion  gives it more depth and breadth.”

Stay for Shabbat Dinner

You’re invited to our community Shabbat dinners following Friday night services, outside on the deck when weather permits. Extend the joy of the Shabbat experience with an informal dinner, among friends old and new. Whether we’re sharing gratitude for blessings, finding company and comfort when things are tough, or reflecting on insights from services, it’s a great way to get to know our rabbis and the remarkably kind people in our congregation. Come as often as you can.

Advance RSVP required.
